Our Children's Services Team are passionate educators and leaders who create safe, engaging environments for young minds to learn, grow, and thrive. Across 40 NSW schools, our OSHC Educators and Coordinators deliver enriching before- and after-school care, packed with creativity, play, and learning.

Every day, our team runs programs that include sport, creative arts, cooking, and more—working closely with children, families, and schools to support development in a healthy, inclusive environment.

About the Role

As a Casual OSHC Educator, you will support children's learning, development, and wellbeing in a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment. You'll work flexible hours to cover staff absences and support our regular programming needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and engage with children aged 5-12 years in before and after school care programs
  • Plan and facilitate age-appropriate activities that promote learning, creativity, and social development
  • Maintain a safe and nurturing environment for all children
  • Support children with diverse needs and backgrounds
  • Communicate effectively with children, families, and team members
  • Follow all policies, procedures, and safety protocols
  • Assist with meal preparation and supervision
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation as required

What We're Looking For

  • Certificate III in Education Support, Early Childhood Education and Care, or related field (or willingness to obtain)
  • Experience working with school-aged children (preferred but not essential)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a diverse team
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work casual hours as needed
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Understanding of child development principles
  • Commitment to inclusive practices and cultural sensitivity

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.
