Big imaginations start here! Our Children’s Services Team are passionate educators and leaders who create safe, exciting environments where kids can learn, grow, and thrive. Across 40 NSW schools, our OSHC Educators and Coordinators deliver engaging before- and after-school care full of creativity, play, and discovery.

About the Role

As a Casual OSHC Educator, you’ll play a key role in shaping positive, engaging experiences for children, supporting their learning, development, and wellbeing in a safe and inclusive environment. With flexible hours, you’ll step in to support our programs while bringing energy, creativity, and care to every session.

What You’ll Do

  • Create a fun, safe, and supportive space for children aged 5–12 in before and after school care
  • Lead and participate in exciting activities that spark creativity, learning, and social connection
  • Build positive relationships with children and support their individual needs
  • Foster an inclusive environment that celebrates diversity
  • Communicate confidently with children, families, and your team
  • Follow policies and safety practices to ensure high-quality care
  • Assist with meal preparation and supervise mealtimes
  • Keep accurate records and support program delivery

What You Bring

  • Certificate III in Education Support, Early Childhood Education & Care, or similar (or willingness to obtain)
  • Experience with school-aged children (great to have, not essential!)
  • Strong communication skills and a positive, team-first mindset
  • Flexibility and reliability to work casual shifts
  • A current Working with Children Check
  • First Aid & CPR (or willingness to obtain)
  • Understanding of child development and inclusive practices
  • A genuine passion for supporting children from diverse backgrounds

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.

When it comes to training and research we partner with the very best. Our campus partners, the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute (MCRI) and The University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics, along with the RCH Foundation, are on site with the hospital in Parkville. Together, we are committed to improving the health outcomes for children today and in the future.

In 2016–17, more than 85,654 children attended our Emergency Department, 322,291 specialist clinic appointments were held which was almost 70,000 more than the previous year, more than 17,000 surgeries were performed and more than 48,552 children were admitted to our wards.
