The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting multiple qualified educators, or working towards, to join our OSHC team at Bradshaw and Living Waters.

As an OSHC Educator you will be responsible for working in partnership with fellow Educators, children and families to ensure positive outcomes for children in the provision of play, leisure and experiences when attending our services. You will be responsible for the direct supervision and care of children within the service, compliance with quality frameworks and adhering to safeguarding and organisational policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of My Time, Our Place: the Framework for School Aged Care.
  • Be a positive role model for children within the service.
  • Implement policies and procedures within the service.
  • Basic duties including food preparation and cleaning.
  • Maintaining children's records to ensure they are current and detailed.
  • Assist in program preparation, implementation and evaluation.

About you:

  • ACECQA recognised Early Childhood Education and Care or be actively working towards an ACECQA approved qualification.
  • Passionate and motivated to deliver high-quality educational programs and learning environments.
  • A positive role model, demonstrating appropriate behaviour.
  • Able to provide a dynamic, supportive, caring, and safe environment for all children, staff, and caregivers.
  • An adaptable leadership style with the ability to guide, support and mentor team members.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional growth as an individual and as a team.
  • A positive, enthusiastic, and professional attitude and work in partnership with parents and families to provide appropriate education and care for children.

Mandatory Requirements

YMCA, including its Boards of Directors, are committed to the safety and well-being of children and young people in accordance with our Safeguarding Children and Young People framework. YMCA requires that all applicants undergo satisfactory screening prior to commencement, including but not limited to:

  • A national criminal history check;
  • An international criminal history check where applicants have worked overseas;
  • Holding or obtaining a Working with Children Clearance/ equivalent in accordance with Territory laws;
  • Two reference checks.

Any successfully appointed applicant will be required to adhere to the Safeguarding Children and Young People framework, which includes a thorough safeguarding children and young people induction and a commitment to upholding the safety and wellbeing of children and young people throughout their engagement with YMCA.

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.
