Summary and Responsibilities
CSI is looking for an Assistant Educator to act as our newest team member. This person will be responsible for:
Support: Lead and supervise staff, with direct supervision of educational assistants/aides, including hiring, training, performance evaluations, payroll, and professional development.
Supervision of children: Provide direct supervision, ensuring safety and engagement during activities and outings.
Education: Facilitate learning through planned activities and observation of developmental progress.
Parent Interaction: Communicate effectively with parents, sharing information, discussing concerns, and facilitating conferences.
Professionalism: Adhere to policies, attend trainings, maintain confidentiality, and report any issues according to procedures.
Environment/Structure: Maintain a safe and organized environment through structured activities and housekeeping.
Community Awareness & Personnel Capabilities: Foster respectful partnerships, collaborate with colleagues, and demonstrate cultural competency and empathy.
Early Head Start Requirements:
Early Head Start Position Requirements in conjunction with Nebraska Early Childhood Collaborative (NECC):
Implement the Head Start Program Performance Standards for Early Head Start.
Work with Site Director, Program Director, and/or finance team to track data for EHS grant.
Review and complete compliance requests following periodic compliance reviews.
Collaborate with NECC Coaching Staff for support of classroom.
Collaborate with EHS Family Engagement Specialist (FES) during weekly center visits.
Report weekly attendance of EHS children on Child Plus software.
Complete parent-teacher conferences with EHS families twice annually (spring/fall).
Complete home visits with EHS families at enrollment and opposite parent- teacher conferences (summer/winter).
QualificationsQualifications:
A higher education degree (Bachelor’s degree preferred) in early childhood education, early childhood special education, elementary education, or child development
OR has
A higher education degree (Bachelor’s degree preferred) with 36 credits in early childhood education, early childhood special education, elementary education or child development
OR has
State certification to practice as a teacher in a public school, and the certification is reflective of the age of children served.
2 yrs. experience in ECEC or related field.
Supervisory experience preferred.
Must be at least 19 years of age.
