Job Description

Job Location: 534 Livonia Ave - Brooklyn, NY 11207
Position Type: Full Time
Salary Range: $53,000.00 - $54,000.00 SalaryUniversity Settlement partners with 40,000+ New Yorkers in Lower Manhattan and Brooklyn every year to build on our collective strengths as we achieve healthy, stable, and remarkable lives. For nearly 140 years, we’ve fought poverty and systemic inequality by building highly effective social services in collaboration with our neighbors. Established in 1886 as the first Settlement House in the United States, we bring the values of that movement into the 21st century by meeting New Yorkers where they live, listening deeply to all perspectives, and creating space for responsive cooperation.
Our mission is simple yet powerful: to strengthen communities by providing comprehensive services, anticipating future needs, and advocating for justice.

- Coach providers on lesson planning, addressing mixed-age groups, special needs, and behavior management.
- Conduct enhanced home visits to Family Child Care Providers serving Early Head Start children.
- Provide on-site training on child development, curriculum planning, daily routines, and space design.
- Support providers in completing developmental assessments and maintaining child observations in My Teaching Strategies.

- Maintain accurate documentation of visits and child development activities.
- Offer technical support to childcare providers.
- Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
What We’re Looking For

-

Experience: At least 1 year of classroom experience and/or curriculum development for infants and toddlers.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of child development (birth to age 3), excellent communication and writing skills.

Why Join Us?
- Make a lasting impact on families and children in NYC.
- Be part of a mission-driven organization with a 135-year legacy.
- Collaborative and supportive work environment.
Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, 35 hours per week
What We Offer:
Paid Time Off: A comprehensive package that includes vacation, sick, and personal days, along with paid holidays.
Health and Wellness Benefits: Robust medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as short‑ and long‑term disability insurance, life insurance, and additional wellness resources to support your overall well‑being.

Work‑Life Balance: A consistent Monday–Friday schedule and a 35‑hour workweek designed to promote a healthy and sustainable work‑life balance.
Professional Development: Opportunities for continuous growth through internal and external training, professional development workshops, tuition assistance, and support for pursuing relevant certifications.
