TITLE: Educational Interpreter (Level 1, 2 or 3 depends on qualifications listed below)

REPORTS TO: Assistant Superintendent, Executive Director, or designee
JOB GOAL: Apply ASL interpreting, English transliterating and/or other communication modalities to facilitate communication in the educational environment and to ensure access to information and maximum learning between students who are hearing impaired and faculty, staff, and other students.
DISTINGUISING CHARACTERISTICS: Serve as an integral member of the educational team serving students who are hearing impaired in the educational environment according to the specifications of the student's individualized educational program (IEP). This environment includes the classroom laboratory, field trip, assembly, and other educational sites that are deemed appropriate for student learning.
