From time to time, schools in Jersey may require a Supply Teacher to provide cover for teacher absence. Supply cover opportunities may be for any Jersey school and last for only one day or up to one academic year depending on the needs of the school. By applying to this advert you will be considered for inclusion on the Jersey Supply Teacher list.
Suitable, qualified Teachers that are added to the Supply List will then be visible to Government of Jersey schools when they are seeking supply cover including relevant details (e.g. Key Stages, subjects, availability).
Being on the Supply List, does not guarantee employment and opportunities may be infrequent and for varying lengths.
To be eligible to apply for any Teacher post in Jersey, it is mandatory to have Qualified Teacher Status with a registered teacher number. Jersey recognises most teacher qualifications in line with England. You can find more information about Qualified Teacher Status on the UK: A fairer approach to awarding QTS to overseas teachers - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
Only applicants that meet this essential requirement will be contacted. We appreciate your understanding.

The DfESC and the representatives of the Teacher’s Unions have agreed the following statement of the Teacher’s Task in order to define more clearly the nature of teachers’ employment. It is their view that in this important work of educating Jersey’s children it is imperative that both teachers and Headteachers recognise the duty they owe to those children and the community. To this end the teacher is expected to maintain a professional commitment to their task and the Headteacher is pledged to a responsible and humane interpretation of this agreement.

We actively seek to recruit people from different backgrounds with diverse perspectives, creating a richer, more varied environment where you’re exposed to new ideas, new ways of thinking, and new opportunities to build an exciting and rewarding career.
To maintain the highest standards of public service, we have a rigorous screening process, to ensure candidates align with our values, skills, and professional requirements. This helps us create a trusted, capable workforce that can deliver excellence and safeguard our community.
