
Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):
Bachelor’s degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in Education or related fields. Three (3) years of full-time progressive experience in direct student services in higher education. Experience in academic advisement or education counseling
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in Education or related fields. Experience with academic advisement, coaching, or educational counseling in higher education, medical school, or health science related institutions. Experience with academic requirements in medical education. Working knowledge of educational theory (adult learning theory, teaching and learning practices). Experience in diagnosing and evaluating learning needs.
Brief Description of Duties:
The RSOM Education Specialist combines expertise in educational theory and a strong interest in working with medical students at all levels to provide direct support services, including academic counseling and learning strategies instruction. General areas of 1:1 coaching and instruction include active learning strategies, self-directed learning, time management, goal-setting, critical thinking, problem-solving, test-taking, board exam preparation, match enhancement, and related topics. The ideal candidate will have a curriculum vitae (portfolio) demonstrating professional competency in using different pedagogical approaches and instructional techniques.
