Education - Special Education Teacher
Lava Heights Academy is a Residential Treatment Center for Troubled Teens 12-18 years old, offering a Comprehensive Arts Therapy Programs Covering all Four Arts Modalities – Music, Drama, Art and Dance/Movement Therapies located in Toquerville, UT. We are looking for a Special Education Teacher to join our team of dedicated individuals. The Job
The Special Education Teacher will create and implement effective and engaging lesson plans in the classroom to students with special needs on variety of ability levels.
Snapshot of Daily Duties
• Create and implement lesson plans.
• Teach to a variety of students on different ability and grade levels.
• Provide effective classroom management skills.
• Attend educational meetings (IEP, Eligibility, professional development, teacher meeting, etc.).
• Work in a collaborative environment with all staff at Lava Heights Academy.
• Represent the educational department in a professional manner.
• Complete educational testing on students.
• Evaluate students’ educational needs and plan curriculum accordingly.
• Process a high volume of paperwork and reporting efficiently and effectively.
The Must Haves
• Must have a current Utah Teaching License.
• Must be SPED certified.
• Bachelor’s degree in Education.
• Preferred experience working in Special Education.
• Must be able to meet the unique educational needs of all students.
• Must have effective classroom management skills and demonstrate an enthusiasm and competence for working with special needs students.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
