The Business Development Representative (BDR) / Lead Qualifier is responsible for generating new business opportunities through high-volume outbound calls and email outreach to schools and teachers across the U.S.

In this role, you will: Proactively prospect and engage educators to introduce WorldStrides programs, qualify leads by identifying teachers interested in organizing student travel experiences, consistently meet and exceed monthly targets for calls and qualified leads, and collaborate with the Sales team by passing high-quality opportunities for closing.

This is agoal-driven, outbound sales role where success depends on your ability to handle rejection and stay motivated, build rapport quickly over the phone, maintain strong activity levels daily, and meet weekly and monthly goals in order to achieve additional compensation through a set commission structure.

You’ll work with a wide range of educational travel programs (history, science, national parks, and more), giving you constant opportunities to connect with new prospects and refine your sales and communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Make calls and leave messages for teachers nationwide and use talk tracks for live calls.
  • Send follow-up emails.
  • Work on special projects, including periodic competitive calls, calls to unassigned schools, specialty schools and other telemarketing efforts.
  • Periodically research schools to help identify top prospects and maintain the database.
    Use templates to create and send flyers and update PowerPoint presentations.

Qualifications:

  • Desired work experience in sales, marketing, promotions or telemarketing.
  • Proficiency in relevant computer applications including CRM.
  • Desired knowledge of customer service/sales principles and practices.
  • Six months or more experience in sales/lead creation/lead qualifying with Telephone sales experience preferred
  • Good data entry/keyboard skills
  • Familiar with office rules/office environment
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Advanced (85%+) English level
  • Desired knowledge of sales and marketing principles and strategies
