PRIMARYFUNCTION
The Education Program Specialist position supports TRIUMF’s Education and Student ProgramsGroup by developing, coordinating,implementing and delivering programs relatedto this functionThis position supports TRIUMF’s strategic goals to be a hub for interdisciplinary education and training, expanding access to STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) training and educational opportunities, and building Canada’s talent pipeline with a focus advancing organizational equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) objectives
RESPONSIBILITES
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL
Strong project management and organizational skills, including planning, scheduling, and execution.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate complex scientific concepts into accessible learning content.
Advancedknowledge of data collection, analysis, and evaluation methodologies used in adult education/learning and demonstrated ability to apply these for education program development and review
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Familiarity with and experienceeducation technologies, learning platforms, and digital communication tools.
Flexible, proactive, and adaptive - able to manage multiple initiatives in a dynamic environment.
Experience working with diverse populations and applying EDI-centred practices in program delivery.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS ANDEXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design,Educational Technology, or similar degree Advanced degree or certification in these areas is an asset.
Other bachelor degrees can be accepted if also combined with a certification in Education
5+years of program coordination or educational services experience, ideally within science, research, or higher education.
Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing learning programs or student services.
A background or interest in science would be an asset to this role.
Applicants must be legally able to work in Canada on a permanent basis (Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident).
