Description of Work

This is a full-time faculty position with the primary responsibility of planning and conducting professional development on mathematics topics for PreK-12 teachers, with an emphasis in grades K-8.

Job Responsibilities

  • Plan and teach programming that contains a working knowledge of adult learning theory, relevancy, high-quality content, concrete (“hands-on”) learning.

-Complete required administrative tasks associated with Center programs to ensure that teachers, schools, and districts have the highest quality programming experience.

-Actively participate in NCCAT related programming meetings, informal and formal conversations, projects, programming calendar development, and other communicative duties as assigned.

-Work with the development officer and other staff to write and submit grants, administer grants, and submit all required documentation as required by the grantor. All grants are required to be pre-approved and/or assigned by the Executive Director.

-Initiate and host communication with teachers following the latest technology social media trends.

-Obtain, or be willing to obtain upon employment, certification in First Aid, CPR and AED certification.

63,927.00 - 86,888.00

The primary purpose of the North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching (NCCAT) is to help every North Carolina teacher grow in knowledge, skills, compassion, and professionalism so that every student becomes engaged, self-motivated, and successful. The goal of NCCAT is to positively impact the quality of public education in North Carolina. The Center’s main focus is providing professional development for residential, off-site, and online programs in the areas of the most current needs of educators and state initiatives.

Master's degree in the education field to which assigned from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of specifically related experience in public education; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
