This is a part-time position with a shift schedule Monday-Friday from 11am-3pm.

The Education Liaison provides academic support to patients in our adolescent program(s). This role complements the clinical team and is responsible for providing direct support to our adolescent clients in maintaining their academic requirements and goals. Our ideal candidate is someone who has experience working with adolescents in mental health supportive environments. This person has a creative mind and a collaborative heart. The ideal candidate is compassionately direct, can set boundaries, yet be energetic and playful. The Education Liaison will work closely with onsite leadership, and the clinical team, supporting the clients in all academic areas while in programming.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Upholds and maintains the Company, mission, and values (called the Lightfully “Shining Commitments”).
  • Works with home school/teachers to coordinate academic needs and systems of support for individual clients that are age/developmental and grade-level appropriate.
  • Presents lessons in a comprehensive manner and uses visual/audio means to facilitate individualized learning experiences.
  • Provides individualized instruction support to each client by promoting interactive learning.
  • During summer months, develops and implements project base learning curriculum.
  • Acts as liaison with outside partners in education, including superintendents, teachers, education consultations and other special education providers as appropriate and indicated per needs of the client.
  • Observes and understands clients’ behavior and psyche and report suspicions of neglect, abuse, etc.
  • Remains an active part of the clients’ treatment team, participating and providing feedback as needed in weekly treatment team meetings.
  • Maintains a positive, collaborative working relationship with leadership, clinical team, and all other internal and external customers.
  • Continues to increase personal knowledge of mental health as it relates to mental health disorders in the adolescent population through methods such as reviewing literature and research, consulting with clinical experts within the field, evaluating clinical practice and participating in professional development activities to improve support through new practices.
  • Due to the essential functions of this job, arriving for your shift on time is an essential requirement.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Specific Skills/Competencies:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Basic knowledge of general office equipment is required.
  • Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to communicate and write clearly and professionally is required.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong communication skills. Must have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from patients, referents, and the public.

Physical Requirements

  • Must have the ability to communicate with individuals over phone, electronic correspondence, and in-person.
  • Frequently ascends and descends stairs.
  • Ability to operate in occasionally noisy environments.
  • May be required to stand, sit, stoop, bend, and lift/move up to 20 lbs.
  • Able to work for prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Mental/Social Requirements

  • Must be able to demonstrate working effectively with and showing respect to all clients/patients and staff, including those from diverse ethnic, cultural, religious, socioeconomic, sexual preferences and/or identities, gender identities/expression, and political backgrounds.
  • Must demonstrate ability to navigate crisis and solving problems independently, using best judgment and critical thinking skills.
  • Must maintain a positive, friendly, and welcoming attitude with staff and clients at all LBH facilities and within the organization.
  • Must utilize professional communication when addressing issues with clients or staff.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, required, preferred Bachelor’s in Education or Counseling
  • Must have two (2) or more years of experience in a mental health AND/OR school setting.
  • Must meet criteria of our auto use policy, including driving a vehicle and possessing valid Driver’s License.
  • Must pass extensive background check.

The pay range for this position is $25-$30/hr.
