Informed by our feminist practice, we improve the legal system for victim-survivors of family and sexual violence through our integrated legal service, capacity building, advocacy and law reform. Our vision is for women and non-binary people to live free from violence and discrimination in a gender equitable society.

Women’s Legal is an employer of choice, providing an inclusive, flexible, and supportive environment for our staff to thrive. We welcome women across all career stages, and we recognise the many roles played by women in their families and communities. We are committed to supporting women’s participation in employment through building skills and knowledge for those looking for a change, and valuing the diverse expertise brought into our organisation.

Your new role

  • Work with a passionate, multidisciplinary team to create innovative learning experiences, including workshops and e-learning resources;
  • Design and deliver evidence-based, best-practice family violence, family law, migration and/or child protection training and capacity building that build the capability of legal professionals supporting people experiencing family and sexual violence
  • Partner with a wide range of organisations and stakeholders to strengthen sector-wide responses and improve outcomes for victim-survivors
  • Use your creativity and project management skills to plan, develop and evaluate education initiatives that drive real-world change

  • Grow your expertise and skills in training design, facilitation and capacity building in a supportive and flexible work environment where mentoring and peer-learning is fostered

What you’ll need to succeed

We value your legal practice background and appetite to mentor, build capability and train the legal workforce by sharing and applying your knowledge and experience. From your insights delivering
legal services, you are motivated to improve the system and service response for victim survivors of family and sexual violence through workforce development. You are a driven, motivated self-starter who can work collaboratively to help us deliver our commitment to being a centre of excellence.

Key to your success is your:

  • Qualifications in law with legal practice experience in family or family violence law.
  • Ability to set priorities, plan and organise your work; [NH4] [AS5]
