For those of you with no experience, here is a little more information about this exciting career opportunity to help encourage you to apply.

What is ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis)?

Behavior analysis focuses on the principles that explain how learning takes place. Positive reinforcement is one such principle. When a behavior is followed by some sort of reward, the behavior is more likely to be repeated. Through decades of research, the field of behavior analysis has developed many techniques for increasing useful behaviors and reducing those that may cause harm or interfere with learning. Applied behavior analysis (ABA) is the use of these techniques and principles to bring about meaningful and positive change in behavior.

What would I be doing?

The Education ABA Therapist provides direct Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services while supporting the classroom and academic needs of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder enrolled in Damar’s school-based programs. The position is responsible for implementing individualized ABA treatment plans and IEPs, providing academic and classroom support, leading individual and group activities, collecting treatment data, and responding to the needs of assigned students and the overall classroom.
