About You

You manage the EDM staff who coordinate engineering changes from Germany and support new product start‑ups with affected U.S. departments such as Production Planning, Quality, Marketing, and Purchasing. You ensure your team plans and executes all EDM activities in alignment with both global and local company standards and procedures.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage and analyze engineering changes. Determine affected departments, potential impact of the change on current business processes, and implementation dates. Set proper implementation date depending on current stock, parts availability, and other constraints.
  • Manage technical information for new product introductions from R&D. Analyze, correct if necessary, and initiate translation for departmental understanding. Analyze documentation for new product introductions to determine appropriate Bill of Materials (B.O.M.). Set proper release dates to initiate ordering of materials prior to test production runs. Maintain start of production numbers for new products.
  • Manage creation of new parts in SAP. Manage new part procurement / production, prototype inventory, and release stats on parts availability. Manage durability test engineering data from R&D. Analyze data and make necessary updates. Manages procedures and standards for Manufacturing Engineering, including ISO 9001 and 14001, as well as Manufacturing Engineering work instruction, handbooks and standards.
  • Manage all aspects of BOMs and BOM related material master data records including generating new BOMs and manage the maintenance of existing BOM records (Series Production, New Development Projects and Spare Parts)
  • Serve as expert to US employees with regard to technical information on engineering changes from Germany.
  • Serve as user expert for SAP projects such as system and process improvements, customized transactions, and implementation of additional SAP-modules.
  • Initiates and implements cost savings projects (SAP automations, product or production related... etc.)
  • Maintain appropriate level of leadership, supervisory, technical and professional skills by attending training classes, seminars, exhibits, and trade shows as needed.
  • All work affecting product quality shall be competent on the basis of appropriate education, training, skills, and experience.
  • All other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Specifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, data management or related discipline preferred
  • 5+ years of technical experience in the power equipment industry.
  • Average travel requirements 1% to 5%
  • High level of proficiency in SAP.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, Power Point and PowerBI
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Bilingual English/German preferred.
