The primary purpose of this role is to support the US and UK Journals Editorial teams by providing accurate data management, reporting, and analytical support that facilitates informed decision-making and operational excellence. The role is responsible for maintaining key editorial databases, generating reports, ensuring data integrity, and delivering insights that support journal publishing activities.
The incumbent will work collaboratively with global stakeholders, maintain strong professional relationships, uphold SAGE's values of transparency and integrity, and proactively demonstrate all SAGE core competencies. The role also requires the ability to troubleshoot issues, manage escalations effectively, and perform responsibilities with professionalism, accuracy, and attention to detail under moderate supervision.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Maintain and update various editorial data repositories, databases, and data cubes on a weekly basis.
Generate, validate, and distribute reports associated with editorial and publishing operations.
Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual reports, including:
Global Peer Review Database reports
Published Output and Submissions reports
Author Survey reports
Publisher reports
Journals Published reports
Impact Factor reports and related analytics
Support data mining, analysis, and reporting projects requiring extensive historical data collection and validation.
Prepare specialized reports, including Rejected and Republished Articles analyses and other business-critical datasets.
Ensure the Global Assignment List and related reports remain accurate, current, and aligned with operational requirements.
Support usage, citation, and other publishing-related analytical projects.
Ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness of editorial data across databases and reports.
Validate information received from internal and external stakeholders before updating systems and reports.
Identify discrepancies, resolve data issues, and recommend improvements to reporting processes.
Respond to internal and external queries professionally and within agreed service timelines.
Collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders across global teams, including the US and UK offices.
Escalate operational issues, risks, and challenges to the Supervisor in a timely and transparent manner.
Provide regular updates on assigned activities and project progress.
Perform assigned responsibilities with moderate supervision while adhering to established processes and quality standards.
Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing reporting accuracy, efficiency, and stakeholder experience.
Demonstrate accountability, professionalism, and sound judgment when handling sensitive information and complex situations.
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Business Administration, Communications, Data Management, Analytics, or a related discipline.
Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
