Do you enjoy using science to drive change in the world?
Ready to shape the future of mental health, science and practice?
The Lancet Psychiatry, an established monthly print and online hybrid journal, seeks an in-house Editor-in Chief. The Lancet Psychiatry was launched in June 2014 with the aim “to play a pivotal role in disseminating new findings and fostering debate that enables clinicians and policy makers to improve the lives of people with mental health problems”. The new Editor-in Chief must be a subject expert who can continue this mission via the publication of high-impact, practice-changing research, review, and provocative comment and opinion in mental health, providing a clear, independent perspective about the clinical advances and cutting-edge research shaping mental health globally.
As an in-house Editor-in-Chief, you are a subject expert who will oversee the assessment and publication of original material for our journal. You will take ownership of submissions and oversee rigorous in-depth peer review to ensure we publish high-quality content. You will build global networks with experts in the community, including experts with lived experience of mental illness, to attract and disseminate the highest quality work from the field.
At the Lancet we are deeply committed to fostering an inclusive environment. In our pursuit of excellence, we recognise the strength in varied perspectives, experiences, and backgrounds. As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance the diversity of our editorial team, we welcome applications from individuals who bring unique skills and perspectives to the role.
We promote a healthy work/life balance across the organisation. With an average length of service of 9 years, we are confident that we offer an appealing working prospect for our people. With numerous wellbeing initiatives, family leave, and tuition reimbursement, we will help you meet both your immediate responsibilities and long-term goals.
