As an Editor at Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc., you will help ensure that high-quality materials,such asproposals, manuals,project reports, presentations, and technical papers,areproduced forboth internal and external customers.
As an Editor, a typical daymight include the following:
Proofread, edit, and format presentations, documents, manuals, guides,proposals,and/or other published material.
Develop andmaintaina high skill level in editing, proofreading, and producing technical documentation.
Collaborate with authors, reviewers, and others to edit deliverables, plan projects, and meet deadlines.
Consider applying for this position if you have:
A minimum of 2 years relevant experience editing/proofreading/producing technical documentation
Strong proofreading, writing, grammar, and communications skills
Strong understanding of MS Office software
The ability to work under pressure and recognize the criticality of meeting stringent deadlines
The ability to collaborate to produce high-quality, technicallyaccuratematerial
The ability to learn and communicate technical/scientific information
Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
Preferred Qualifications
B.S./B.A. in English or technical communication or a related area
Experience with desktop publishing software
Experience with technical drawing software (e.g., MS Visio)
Working knowledge of the Chicago Manual of Style and the Gregg Reference Manual
Experience editing complex technical documentation

Pay Range Data -$29.00 - $43.00 per hour
We set starting pay based on job-related factors such as your experience, training, knowledge, and skills. We are looking to fill this position at the Editor level, and we welcome applicants with a range of experience. Depending on your background, we may consider you for a different level, with compensation aligned accordingly.
