Job Description
We are seeking detail-oriented and highly organised eDiscovery Case Managers to join our Global eDiscovery team in Dublin, Ireland. This role plays a crucial role in managing Electronically Stored Information (ESI), assisting in the eDiscovery process, and supporting our legal team in all aspects of litigation and regulatory investigations. The ideal candidates will have a strong understanding of eDiscovery processes and technologies, possess excellent communication skills, and be able to collaborate effectively with legal professionals and various internal teams across different time zones.
The Global Legal - Litigation & eDiscovery team operates globally with team members contributing to the entire eDiscovery lifecycle of cases across multiple jurisdictions.
An eDiscovery Case Manager contributes to the entire eDiscovery lifecycle of a case. Case Managers work closely with, and often liaison between, in-house Litigation Counsels, Outside Counsels, paralegals, Data Team, Engineering, and external vendors to manage and assist with data preservation, collection, processing, review, and production.
The role requires a strong understanding of the eDiscovery process and custom data types, as well as the ability to navigate a complex, global data environment while adhering to various national and international regulations. Case managers are vital in preparing data for litigation, which involves instructing stakeholders, overseeing data exports, as well as leveraging technologies and machine-assisted analytics to efficiently identify relevant information.
Key Responsibilities
eDiscovery Process Management
- Manage eDiscovery process in collaboration with litigation attorneys and paralegals.
- Manage ESI through its lifecycle, including preservation, collection, processing and culling, review, and production.
- Assist in preservation of various data sources, including but not limited to structured data, internal tools and systems.
- Collaborate with various internal teams and outside counsel to develop preservation understanding and strategies for information governance.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Liaison between in-house legal teams, forensics teams, and outside counsel on eDiscovery process and best practice.
- Collaborate with legal professionals, forensics, IT, and external vendors to ensure seamless information exchange.
- Coordinate with engineering and data scientist teams for complex, proprietary systems to run queries and export data.
Data Analysis & Process Development
- Assist in data analyses, including Early Case Assessment (ECA) and search terms analyses, to identify patterns, trends, and relevant information for litigation purposes.
- Develop knowledge libraries from data analyses.
- Develop standardised processes and document in detail regarding ESI specifications, workflow and case development for litigation matters.
- Provide cross-matter tracking support.
Compliance & Best Practices
- Stay informed about the latest advancements in litigation support technologies and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with FRCP proportionality requirements.
- Maintain meticulous Chain of Custody documentation.
