Job Title: Patient Care Technician/ ED Tech - PRN

The Emergency Department is a 19 bed/ 4 chaired area with a separate 2 bay, 1 bed clinical decision area designated for patients ranging in age from birth to death with health care needs from nonemergent to critical. The unit has designated rooms used for life-threatening conditions with special equipment and supplies, and rooms designated as fast track for non-emergent patients
Under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse (RN) or other licensed care team member, the ER Technician/Patient Care Technician (PCT) provides direct and indirect patient care. The PCT provides excellence in patient care while respecting human dignity and the uniqueness of everyone. Empathy, compassion, communication, and teamwork are the hallmarks of the PCT-nurse-patient relationship.
