Bajo supervisión general, realiza instalaciones y retiros de sistemas de levantamiento artificial, inspecciones rutinarias y diagnóstico de fallas. Proporciona instrucción y soporte técnico al personal del cliente sobre el manejo adecuado y los procedimientos de operación de los sistemas de levantamiento artificial. Realiza análisis básicos de producción de pozos y reparación de equipos de levantamiento artificial, además de probar, empalmar y reparar cables. Prepara documentación que incluye reportes IFTA, horas facturables y no facturables, y registro de millaje. Capacita y orienta a nuevos empleados en principios básicos del trabajo. Promueve la conciencia de seguridad y el cuidado ambiental, y cumple con todos los procedimientos y regulaciones aplicables en materia de seguridad y medio ambiente. Asegura el cumplimiento de las normativas y lineamientos de Salud, Seguridad y Medio Ambiente (HSE). Mantiene el buen funcionamiento mecánico del camión utilizado para el transporte hacia y desde el campo. También capacita y orienta a técnicos de nivel inferior en el sitio del pozo. Las habilidades requeridas suelen adquirirse mediante la finalización exitosa de la educación secundaria o equivalente y de 3 a 4 años de experiencia en operaciones de levantamiento artificial. Se requiere la capacidad de realizar cálculos matemáticos básicos como suma, resta, multiplicación y división, así como habilidades básicas de comprensión lectora y escritura.
