Job Description

Meta is seeking an experienced professional to lead our public policy work on economic policy issues, especially connectivity and infrastructure policy issues and other economic policy issues (Intellectual Property, Competition, Commerce, Monetization and Consumer Protection).

As Public Policy Manager, you will join the Meta Policy Team in APAC, helping to shape issues and product agendas with policymakers inside and outside of government. You will also advise our internal teams on the public policy implications of our products and wider positions as a company, working with a cross-functional global team especially on the areas connectivity and infrastructure, as well as other policy issues.

The role requires significant experience either working with or in government, politics, regulatory agencies or think tanks, as well as an ability to grasp complex technical and policy issues. You will need knowledge of existing tech policy issues, including expert knowledge of APAC economic policy issues primarily on Connectivity and infrastructure, with some understanding on Intellectual Property, Competition, Commerce, Monetization and Consumer Protection and the political debates that emanate from this area of policy. The role also requires representing Meta externally, including in difficult, high-stakes conversations with external stakeholders. Travel within the region will be required.

The successful candidate will focus a significant portion of their time in supporting Meta's connectivity and infrastructure policy agenda in the Asia-Pacific region, with some portion on other economic policy areas, as a team member of the Economic Policy team.

Responsibilities
Work closely with the Director of Policy Strategy and Head of Economic Policy APAC to shape and ensure delivery of the regional strategies on connectivity and infrastructure policy or other economic policy issues in the region
* Represent Meta to external policy stakeholders at events, conferences, technical meetings with regulators, and other public fora
* Brief executives across Meta on the risks and opportunities emerging from the policy and political landscape in APAC
* Advise Meta's internal teams on connectivity and infrastructure policy or other economic policy matters to guide development of products and policies
* Build narratives and third party mobilisation strategies in collaboration with cross-functional teams
* Work closely with Meta's global cross functional team to ensure regional engagement is consistent with the company's global strategy and interests

Qualifications
8+ years of legal and/or public policy experience
* Significant experience either working with or in government, politics, regulatory agencies or think tanks
* Experience working on telecoms, connectivity and infrastructure policy issues
* Knowledge of existing tech policy issues, especially those driving the policy debate about the future of connectivity and infrastructure and other economic policy issues in APAC and the role of large technology companies in this
* Understanding of how to translate technical issues into persuasive public policy advocacy
* Openness and strong track record of learning new policy issues areas
* Excellent command of the English language, as the role requires engaging with English-speaking policymakers and stakeholders across the APAC region
* Experience working with cross functional teams to devise and execute on public policy work Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
* Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
* Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
* Experience working on infrastructure, connectivity and other economic policy issues for large technology companies
