Economic Mobility Counselor

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Economic Mobility Counselor to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in empowering individuals and families to achieve financial stability and long-term economic success. Key Responsibilities:

- Provide personalized counseling to clients seeking to improve their economic stability and achieve financial goals

- Assess clients’ financial situations, including income, expenses, debts, and assets

- Develop tailored action plans to help clients improve budgeting, savings, credit management, and employment opportunities

- Connect clients with community resources, job training programs, and financial education services

- Monitor client progress and adjust plans as needed to ensure sustainable economic mobility

- Maintain accurate and confidential client records and documentation

- Collaborate with community organizations, employers, and other stakeholders to support client success

- Stay informed about current economic trends, social services, and relevant policies affecting clients

Requirements

Skills and Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Economics, or a related field; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree

- Proven experience in counseling, social services, or economic development

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport

- Knowledge of financial literacy, budgeting, credit repair, and employment resources

- Ability to assess client needs and develop practical, achievable plans

- Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others improve their economic circumstances

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and case management software

- Bilingual abilities are a plus
