Examples of duties

This position centers on reviewing, monitoring, and supporting federal HOME and HUD special purpose grants within the Center for Community and Housing Development. It helps ensure that funded projects follow complex federal and state rules while meeting community needs. As an Economic Development Analyst 1, you will perform the following duties:

  • Application Review: Evaluate HOME and HUD special purpose grant applications for compliance with complex federal and state requirements
  • Data Management: Enter program information into tracking systems to document compliance with federal requirements
  • Training Delivery: Prepare and present compliance training for local grantees, administrators, and staff
  • Grant Monitoring: Review grantee reports, budgets, project changes, and conduct remote and on-site monitoring
  • Technical Guidance: Provide detailed assistance to grantees and help resolve issues that delay project progress

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week, with in-office days of Tuesdays and Wednesdays. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in business or public administration or a related field; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.


Additional Requirements:

  • You must have one or more years of experience in grant administration in Federal, State, or Local programs
  • You must have one or more years of experience performing analytical work
  • You must have one or more years of experience in reviewing and evaluating grant applications requesting Federal, State, and/or Local funds
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.


Preferred Qualifications (not required):

  • One or more years of experience in grant administration involving affordable housing or community development
