We’re looking for an Economic Data News Editor in Tokyo to join our Asia-Pacific Economic Data News team. This is a unique role at the intersection of journalism, economics, and technology, where you’ll cover the numbers that move global markets.

This role offers the chance to make a direct impact in one of Bloomberg’s most visible functions. Whether you’re a journalist building data skills, a data professional moving closer to news, or a product specialist interested in how information reaches users — you’ll be shaping how millions of people understand Japan’s economy. You’ll also be working at the forefront of AI and automation in real-time news.

We'll trust you to:

• Report on key economic indicators with speed, accuracy, and insight
• Survey economists to compile forecasts for major releases across Asia
• Work closely with reporters, data analysts, product managers, and technologists to improve coverage and processes
• Use and experiment with AI tools and automation to make reporting faster and richer
• Find new ways to collect, process, and present data for real-time insights
• Share ideas that help Bloomberg explain macroeconomic trends to a global audience

You'll need to have:

• At least 3 years of experience in journalism, economics, finance, data analysis, or product development
• A working knowledge of Excel VBA
• Fluency in written and spoken English and Japanese
• Ability to stay calm and precise under deadline pressure
• Curiosity about how economies work, how data drives decisions, and how new technologies like AI can improve reporting
• Evidence of steady career growth within an organization

We'd love to see:

• Familiarity with the Bloomberg Terminal
• Experience in real-time or financial news environments
• A passion for telling stories through numbers

ブルームバーグのクライアントにとって不可欠な主要な経済指標など各種データの分析や解説、エコノミストへの調査、情報の整理・編集など多岐にわたる役割を担っていただきます。
データ分析のスキルを磨きたい記者、ニュースの現場に興味のあるデータ専門家、ユーザーへの情報伝達に関心のあるプロダクトスペシャリストなど、これまでの経歴や経験に関わらず、市場や読者に直接影響を与えることができます。また、人工知能 （AI ）や自動化技術を活用した最先端のニュース報道にも携わっていただきます。

主な業務内容

• 経済指標ニュースを迅速かつ正確に編集・報道し、分析・解説・視点を提供する
• アジア各国の主要経済指標について、エコノミストへの調査を行い予測をまとめる
• 記者、データアナリスト、プロダクトマネージャー、テクノロジーチームと連携し、報道内容および業務プロセスを改善する
• AIツールや自動化技術を活用し、より早く深みのある報道を実現する
• 市場を動かすリアルタイムな分析・洞察を発信するため、新たなデータの収集・処理方法を見出す
• マクロ経済の動向を世界中の読者により分かりやすく伝えるための提案をする

応募資格

• ジャーナリズム、経済・金融・データ分析、またはプロダクト開発の分野で3年以上の実務経験がある方
• Excel VBAの実務知識がある方
• 英語・日本語双方での高い言語運用能力がある方
• 締め切りのある環境で落ち着いて正確に業務を進められる方
• 経済の仕組みやデータが意思決定に与える影響を理解し、またAIなどの最新技術の活用により報道の迅速性や正確性をどう高められるかに関心のある方
• 組織内で着実なキャリア成長を明示している方
