Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Accurately photographs items according to established expectations.
  • Accurately lists items on their appropriate online selling platforms according to established expectations.
  • Accurately stores items on storage shelves according to established expectations.
  • Accurately packs and prepares sold items for shipment to customers.
  • Performs purging of unsold items for downstream disposition.
  • Meets established production goals corresponding to the assigned role.
  • Maintains a clean work environment.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in at least one of the following roles through evaluation:
    • Quality Assurance
    • Photography
    • Listing
    • Shipping
  • Reports known or suspected security and/or theft problems to management, the appropriate District Manager, and/or the Asset Protection Department.
  • Complies with all agency policies, procedures, and safety standards throughout all work areas while maintaining compliance with CARF, Department of Labor, and other regulatory standards.
  • Maintains safety standards in the work area and reports any exceptions to management.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

  • Work a flexible schedule, including weekends.
  • Have reliable transportation to and from work.

Must Have

  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with retail systems and programs such as Microsoft Word.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Multicultural sensitivity and awareness of diverse people and cultures.

Education and Experience

  • Completion of any level of primary or secondary education, regardless of diploma or degree.
  • Previous experience in a retail or online resale environment is preferred.

Physical Demands

While performing the essential duties of this position, the team member is:

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, and hear.
  • Required to use close, distance, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Required to reach with hands and arms.
  • Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Occasionally required to lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.
  • Depending on the assigned task, sitting may be frequent or infrequent.

Work Environment

  • Work is generally performed in an indoor retail setting.
  • Team members may occasionally be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, including extreme heat or cold.
  • Team members may frequently be exposed to dust and odors.
  • The normal work environment has a moderate noise level.

Our E-Commerce Team Members provide Amazing Customer Experiences while supporting mission revenue generation through the efficient processing and selling of donated items on various online selling platforms. Team Members in the E-Commerce Team Member I role may work in various functions including quality assurance, photography, listing, and shipping.

Our History:

Here in Lower South Carolina, your local Goodwill has been building better communities through the power of work since the 1970s. In 1974, a small group of local citizens raised concerns over the lack of opportunities for people with disabilities in the Charleston area. After five years of endless meetings and small fundraising activities, the group received a charter from Goodwill Industries International and the agency officially opened its doors on October 16, 1979, with the name Goodwill Industries of Lower South Carolina, Inc.

Since its inception, your local Goodwill has continued to provide services to individuals, businesses and organizations throughout the South Carolina. The community has supported Goodwill Industries with donations of goods, monetary contributions and by shopping in Goodwill retail stores. Because of this support, Goodwill’s mission of helping people achieve their full potential through the dignity and power of work is as relevant today as it was when Goodwill opened its doors in 1979.
