Job Description

HarperCollins US is looking for a dynamic eCommerce and digital marketing leader to grow its Direct-to-Consumer division. This role has P&L responsibility across multiple eCommerce stores and owns both the strategy and day-to-ay execution to drive performance. The Director leads merchandising and promotional planning, executing cross-platform strategies in close partnership with customer lifecycle marketing, growth and performance marketing, and digital products teams. The ideal candidate is a confident, self-directed leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and brings a strong executive presence to cross-functional partnerships.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for driving sales and ensuring the business is meeting both net sales and contribution targets
  • Concept and lead execution for campaigns, including promotional strategy and calendar, title selection, on-site merchandising, creative and messaging vision based on brand insights and direct-to-consumer best practices
  • Own coordination of campaigns and initiatives across email, SMS, social media and paid marketing, leveraging best practices, constant testing and iteration to optimize performance
  • Lead strategy for visual and written messaging, including execution for messaging and copy development for on-site, email, SMS, social media and performance marketing
  • Forecasting and inventory management for key titles
  • Promotional and pricing strategies and execution
  • Own and drive strategic vision and KPI planning to develop and meet targets
  • Lead campaign planning and cross-functional alignment processes
  • Lead regular and ad hoc analytics reviews and reporting

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 7 years of digital marketing experience, with at least 5 years in an eCommerce/direct-to-consumer setting; Shopify experience is required.
  • Experience working across digital marketing platforms including, but not limited to, social media, email and SMS marketing, and performance marketing.
  • Experience developing and creating eCommerce campaigns in a DTC/B2C setting
  • Deep understanding of the fundamentals of eCommerce and digital sales, and how different digital marketing channels drivevalue within the eCommerce ecosystem.
  • Deep understanding of eCommerce analytics and KPIs; able to interpret the data and develop actionable insights from it
  • Previous P&L ownership and understanding of business financials and sales channel responsibilities

The salary range for this position is $110,000-$130,000. We recognize that attracting the best talent is key to our strategy and success as a company. The quoted salary range represents our good faith estimate as to what our ideal candidates are likely to expect, and we tailor our offers within the range based on the selected candidate's experience, industry knowledge, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the interview process.
