About the role

We are looking for a motivated and adaptable Ecologist to support field-based environmental projects across Western Australia, with a focus on flora surveys, vegetation monitoring, and rehabilitation assessment. This is a hands-on role ideal for a final-year student or recent graduate in ecology, environmental science, or botany who is keen to build hands-on field experience.

About the Role

• Assist with Flora and Vegetation field surveys (including quadrats and transects)
• Vegetation condition assessments and monitoring
• Rehabilitation and mine closure monitoring
• Field logistics and site preparation
• Support data collection, recording, and basic analysis
• Work across a variety of terrains and conditions, including remote locations
• Follow safety procedures and environmental compliance requirements

About You

We are open to a broad range of backgrounds. You might be a final-year student or recent graduate in ecology or a related field. You may have:

• Studies in Botany, Plant Science, Ecology, Environmental Science, Conservation Biology, or similar
• Fieldwork experience (consulting, university projects, placements, or volunteer work)
• Interest or exposure to botany, flora surveys, rehabilitation monitoring, or other ecological studies
• Basic skills in data recording, GPS use, or GIS (e.g. QGIS/ArcGIS exposure beneficial)
• A willingness and the ability to work outdoors in remote locations for a week at a time
• Strong attention to detail when collecting field data
• Good communication, teamwork skills and willingness to learn
