The language services team within ICON is seeking highly skilled and experienced Team Lead to lead a team of project managers and specialists supporting the delivery of linguistic validation and electronic Clinical Outcome Assessment (eCOA) implementation projects.

This leadership role combines operational oversight, people management, client engagement, financial accountability, and process excellence to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality multilingual (e)COA solutions for global clinical trials. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving team performance, developing talent, supporting business growth, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & People Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of project managers and specialists.
  • Conduct performance reviews, coaching sessions, and development planning.
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and customer-focused team culture.
  • Support resource allocation, workload management, and capacity planning.
  • Drive employee engagement and retention initiatives.

Operational Excellence

  • Oversee the successful execution of linguistic validation and eCOA implementation projects.
  • Monitor project quality, timelines, budgets, and key performance indicators.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks and escalation points.
  • Ensure adherence to SOPs, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across processes and systems.

Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Serve as a senior escalation point for project and client-related matters.
  • Collaborate closely with Client Managers, Business Development, Production Teams, and Technology teams.
  • Participate in client meetings and provide strategic guidance on project delivery.

Financial Management & Business Performance

  • Monitor and drive project financial performance, including revenue, margin, and profitability targets.
  • Review project budgets, forecasts, and resource allocations to ensure efficient project delivery and optimal financial outcomes.
  • Analyze revenue trends, utilization metrics, and operational performance indicators to support business objectives.
  • Ensure accurate financial tracking, including change orders, scope management, invoicing readiness, and revenue recognition milestones.

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure delivery meets quality, regulatory, and client-specific requirements.
  • Support audit readiness activities and CAPA implementation.
  • Contribute to process standardization and documentation improvements.
  • Monitor compliance metrics and implement corrective actions when required.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Languages, Translation, Project Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years of people leadership experience, including managing project teams within Life Sciences, eCOA, localization, or related service environments.
  • Experience in clinical research, clinical outcomes assessments (COA), linguistic validation, localization, or related healthcare services.
  • Strong understanding of translation and linguistic validation methodologies.
  • Knowledge of eCOA, ePRO, eClinRO, eObsRO, or related electronic clinical technologies.
  • Strong analytical and business acumen with the ability to interpret operational and financial data (including revenue, margin, forecasting and resource utilization)
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Experience working in a global, cross-functional environment.
