Job Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop electrical designs for CW CRAH, Thermal Wall, and Chiller products, including sizing and selection of electrical components, protection devices, and wiring solutions.
  • Create and maintain electrical schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, cable lists, terminal plans, harness documentation, connection guides, Bills of Materials, and manufacturing drawings.
  • Design electrical solutions that balance safety, reliability, cost, manufacturability, serviceability, quality, schedule, and customer requirements.
  • Support electrical panel design, including component placement, heat dissipation, cable management, segregation, grounding, labeling, terminal allocation, and service access.
  • Collaborate with Controls Engineering on control wiring, I/O allocation, sensors, actuators, communications, alarms, and customer interface signals.
  • Support NPDI activities including design reviews, risk assessments, prototype builds, validation planning, engineering release, and lessons learned.
  • Provide electrical engineering support for ETO-C and sustaining projects based on standard product platforms.
  • Support Manufacturing Engineering and production plants with shop-floor documentation, DFM improvements, change management, and issue resolution.
  • Evaluate alternative components and support supplier qualification, obsolescence management, cost reduction, and standardization.
  • Investigate production, supplier, and field issues and contribute to root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Support product compliance activities for CE, Low Voltage Directive, EMC, EN 60204-1, RoHS, and applicable UL/CSA requirements.
  • Use ECAD and PLM tools in accordance with standard templates, checklists, release processes, and engineering best practices.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree, technical diploma, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, Electrical Design, or a related discipline.
  • 4-8 years of experience in electrical design for HVAC, Chillers, data center thermal equipment, industrial machinery, automation systems, or comparable engineered products.
  • Proficiency with Electrical CAD systems and electrical schematic development.
  • Good knowledge of low-voltage electrical design, circuit protection, grounding, cable selection, terminal management, labeling, and industrial control wiring.
  • Experience with panel layouts, wiring documentation, connection guides, Bills of Materials, and engineering change processes.
  • Working knowledge of UL, CE, EMC, Low Voltage Directive, EN 60204-1, UL 60335-2-40, RoHS, and applicable international electrical standards.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical and controls requirements and translate them into robust electrical solutions.
  • Experience supporting production, suppliers, alternative component evaluation, cost reduction, and technical issue investigation.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and collaboration skills.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with CRAH, CRAC, air handling units, chilled-water thermal equipment, Chillers, or data center infrastructure products.
  • Experience with 3D panel layouts, cable routing, harness documentation, automated ECAD reports, or standardized electrical workflows.
  • Understanding of safety circuits, monitored contactors, independent protections, safety thermostats, alarms, and controls interfaces.
  • Familiarity with PLM systems and electrical component lifecycle management.
  • Experience supporting global NPDI or engineered-to-order programs.
