Technical Sales Specialist I - Building Health and Energy Solutions

We are seeking a highly motivated, energetic, and well-organized Technical Sales Specialist I to advance TSI’s presence across multiple market segments. In this role, you will sell TSI’s products, services, and solutions directly to end users and partners, while developing and executing sales strategies designed to maximize revenue and achieve corporate objectives.

TSI is a global leader in providing critical systems and solutions to protect people and products. TSI offers instruments, sensors and complete solutions that are used to measure air velocity and volume, room pressure, temperature, and humidity as well as measure and monitor other key IAQ (Indoor Air Quality) and IEQ (Indoor Environmental Quality) parameters for comfort and health while improving energy efficiency. These solutions can be used in a variety of buildings (i.e. healthcare facilities, laboratories, universities, schools, commercial and industrial buildings) to assess and report HVAC system performance. With IAQ being one of the top health concerns by most leading associations and agencies worldwide, the need for TSI’s solutions is increasingly important.

The individual will support all of the United States and will be located within the US.

What Will You Do?

In order to grow and build a successful career with TSI, you will be responsible for:

• Service an install-base of existing customers through frequent follow ups, introduction of new products/solutions as well as training efforts.
• Leverage existing customer relationships by becoming a trusted champion and advisor, cultivating ongoing referrals and long-term loyalty.
• Develop and cultivate new customer relationships through lead follow-up and consultative selling directly to end users. Follow a customer journey through the sales process of engagement, discovery, value-building, and opportunity advancement.
• Leverage resources such as product demonstrations or joint meetings with internal subject matter experts to provide uncommon value during customer interactions.
• Conduct weekly face-to-face meetings with customers and prospects.
• Conduct targeted cold calling and other strategic activities in key market segments to drive individual territory management plan and achieve revenue goals.
• Proactively research, ask, listen and clarify data in order to gain insight regarding industry trends and application information.
• Work collaboratively with marketing on voice of customer (VOC) activities and to provide constructive feedback to help shape the trajectory of campaigns, customer training, and new product development (NPD).
• Self-directed continuous learning about the assigned product and solution portfolio, customer applications, and new technical advances in the fields and markets you are selling.
• Collaborate with team members and actively participate in team discussions, meetings and events.
• Utilize tools like Customer Relationship Management software and other packages for sales analysis, administrative responsibilities, opportunity management, expense management, territory planning, monthly forecasting and commentary.
• Attend tradeshows and conferences as a TSI brand ambassador.
• Build your own brand as you build interest in assigned TSI products by attending and presenting at industry conferences, utilizing appropriate media platforms, and networking with industry drivers and decision makers.

What Do You Need?
Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Business or equivalent.

• 2 years of experience in sales, with success in achieving individual sales goals.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and customer relationship management (CRM) software.

Desired:

• Experience with Indoor Air Quality (IAQ), or Environmental Science (especially with continuous monitoring systems, Test and Balance of Air and Hydronic Systems, HVAC Systems, Instrumentation.

• Proven track record of selling New to Customers or New to Markets solutions.
• Experience selling SaaS solutions.
• Experience selling to multiple levels of buying influences within organizations.
• Experience building partnerships with external organizations to secure support and funding in line with customer goals for implementing TSI solutions.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Technical aptitude to understand assigned products, with an astute knowledge of industry market trends.
• Proficient in current Sales methodologies and best practices.
• Ability to effectively communicate and present information to a wide range of audiences.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational and verbal/written communication skills.
• Strategic and collaborative leadership skills.
• Ability to prioritize and drive for results.
• Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with other teams within organization
• Highly motivated self-starter who takes initiative with minimal supervision.

Travel

• Travels +60% to meet with customers and attend conferences, trade show etc.
• Valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance required.
• This person will work from a home-based office.

Pay & Benefits:

Competitive market salary from $85,000- $95,000 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities may be available and awarded at the discretion of the Company.
