Join Stanford Urology as a General Urologist
The Department of Urology at Stanford University School of Medicine is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible urologist to join the department as Clinical Assistant Professor in the Clinician Educator (CE) line. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of one of the nation’s premier academic departments at Stanford University, where clinical excellence, innovation in basic science and translational research, and outstanding education are at the core of our mission. This position will be based at the Stanford Medicine East Bay Urology Clinic in Pleasanton, adjacent to Tri-Valley Hospital, and may include other outreach sites in our network. We expect the successful candidate to treat all aspects of adult general urology. Subspecialty training in urogynecology and reconstructive pelvic surgery (URPS) or genitourinary reconstructive surgery (GURS) is a plus but not a requirement. This position will include call at Tri-Valley Hospital, a Stanford-owned community hospital in Pleasanton. There are APPs to provide outpatient faculty support, dedicated Urology nursing staff, AI scribes, and administrative support.
The major criterion for appointment as Clinician Educators is excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, teaching, administrative and/or scholarship appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill. Individuals appointed as Clinical Assistant Professors should have demonstrated exceptional qualities and promise to become outstanding clinicians, teachers, institutional leaders, and/or scholars. If these individuals have not had formal teaching experience, they should have demonstrated a commitment to develop the skills necessary for outstanding teaching. They must have demonstrated excellence or promise of excellence in a combination of clinical performance, teaching, administration and/or scholarship appropriate to the programmatic need upon which the appointment will be based.
