Job Description

The Earthmoving Equipment Mechanic is responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, and optimal performance of diesel-powered vehicles and earthmoving equipment through accurate diagnostics, high-quality maintenance, and effective repair activities.

  • Diagnose, overhaul, repair, tune, maintain, and test diesel powered vehicles and earthmoving equipment
  • Detect mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults using appropriate diagnostic tools and instruments (e.g. charging and starting systems, batteries, ignition systems and timing, fuel injection systems, speed control, wheel balance, and alignment)
  • Prepare and test incoming machines before deployment
  • Provide accurate reports on machine conditions following inspections
  • Ensure all maintenance and repair activities comply with safety standards and technical specifications

  • Proven experience in the maintenance and repair of diesel-powered vehicles and earthmoving or heavy construction equipment
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
  • Ability to work independently, manage troubleshooting activities, and hangle on-site technical interventions
  • Willingness to travel for field interventions when required
  • Mandatory on-site availability: this position is fully on-site and not eligible for remote work
  • Residence in Livorno or nearby areas is required, or willingness to relocate to Livorno or surrounding areas prior to employment
