Power engineering organisation engaged in high voltage (HV) distribution projects requires Earthing Test Technicians to meet a growing demand for their expertise in this area.
The role entails travelling to various sites around the country to:
Perform soil resistivity surveys and measurements
Write soil resistivity and earth electrode resistance reports
Carry out post construction tests on newly installed earthing systems
Conduct earthing compliance tests on pre-existing earthing systems
Measurements of new earth electrodes
This is an interesting opportunity to work alongside various teams on projects in a range of sectors, including data centres, battery storage and renewable generation. It's an excellent way to broaden one's technical knowledge.
Previous experience is a similar role is desired. However, full training will be offered so applications are welcome from people with a background working on LV electrical systems, such as electricians. A driving licence is essential, as is an electrical qualification, and some experience with CAD software would be advantageous.
