Job Description

About the role
In this role, you will supports the effective delivery of early childhood education and care services across the municipality by providing operational leadership, ensuring compliance requirements are met, and contributing to project implementation. The role plays a key part in maintaining high‑quality service delivery by supporting continuous improvements, following established procedures, and fostering clear, consistent communication with internal and external stakeholders.

You will also step into centre management functions to ensure operational continuity, apply strong knowledge of compliance frameworks to complete mandatory tasks accurately and on time, and contribute to time‑limited projects through organised planning, problem solving, and collaboration.

Work type: Permanent Full-Time
Classification: Band 6 $98,633 pa plus super

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support the delivery of early childhood service activities in line with departmental plans and established procedures.
  • Support the implementation of approved service improvements, processes, and operational tasks.
  • Participate in routine data collection, documentation, and reporting to support service delivery.
  • Apply knowledge of early childhood operations, regulations, and frameworks in day‑to‑day tasks.
  • Support collaboration across early childhood and family service areas as required for operational delivery.
  • Support routine problem‑solving by identifying issues and suggesting improvements within established guidelines

About you
This role is ideally suited to someone with a thorough understanding of Early Childhood frameworks and legislation and exposure to the leading of teams and working in a compliance environment. You will be a highly motivated person, who as the ability to work autonomously and is comfortable engaging with a diverse range of people.

Essential Experience:

  • Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (or equivalent).
  • Experience working within early childhood or family services in an operational or support capacity.
  • Well-developed planning and time management ability.
  • Working knowledge of State and Federal requirements relating to early childhood services.
  • Understanding of the National Quality Framework, Early Years Learning Frameworks, and relevant operational standards.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to integrated practice models and multi-disciplinary service delivery.
  • Working with Children’s Check / VIT registration

Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check and as part of the recruitment process (funded by the City).
