£29,468 to £34,668 per annum

Location: Basildon

Working Style: Fixed-base worker

The Role

The Coach plays a key role in motivating and supporting learners and apprentices to achieve their learning goals through high-quality coaching, mentoring and tailored support.

The successful candidate will have a demonstrable background in early years practice and be an experienced workplace coach or assessor within apprenticeship delivery. They will hold or already be working towards a relevant assessment qualification e.g. TAQA, CAVA, D32.

As an Apprenticeship & Work Based Learning Coach you will work collaboratively with vocational trainers, employers and partners to ensure that all learners and apprentices receive effective, inclusive and individualised support throughout their learning journey. They will model professional behaviours, encourage progression, and promote safeguarding, wellbeing and equality across all learning settings.

This role ensures every learner and apprentice, regardless of background or circumstance, can access meaningful learning and develop the confidence, competence and skills to thrive at work and in life.

Accountabilities

  • Coach, mentor and support a caseload of apprentices and learners to achieve qualifications, skills and personal development goals conduct regular progress reviews and provide constructive feedback to enable continuous improvement and achievement and maintaining accurate records of progress and outcomes.
  • Plan monthly activities that support learning plan targets and as required set and assess work to enable timely learner achievements.
  • Deliver high-quality one-to-one and group coaching sessions (face-to-face and online) using approved learning platforms and resources to enable successful learning outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with vocational trainers and sector leads to embed learning support, employability skills, and inclusive practice to ensure a positive learner experience.
  • Work in partnership with employers to ensure all elements of the apprenticeship are covered including sign off of Behaviours and be the initial point of contact for any issues to maintain compliance.
  • Identify and implement reasonable adjustments for learners with additional support needs, promoting equality, diversity and inclusion at all times.
  • Support the completion of initial assessments and use diagnostic tools to inform learning plans and adaptations to improve learner outcomes
  • Prepare apprentices for Apprenticeship Assessment to ensure readiness and successful completion of apprenticeship standards.
  • Promote safeguarding and Prevent, British Values, equality of opportunity and wellbeing across all aspects of service delivery ensuring all staff and learners feel respected, supported and able to thrive.
  • Contribute to quality improvement processes and participate in professional development activities, including self-assessment reviews, sharing best practice to enhance service standards and maintain a culture of reflective practice and continuous improvement.
  • Work flexibly to meet the business needs of the service undertaking other duties from time to time, compatible with the nature of the post.
  • Specific individual and shared targets and objectives are defined annually within the performance management framework.

The Experience You Will Bring

  • Educated to RQF Level 3 or above in early years.
  • Occupational competency in early years eg Nursery, pre-school
  • Hold a relevant Assessor Qualification (e.g. TAQA, D32, A1)
  • Evidence of continuing professional development and expert knowledge of learner engagement and coaching practice.
  • Demonstrable experience of supporting diverse adult learners and apprentices in education, training, or workplace settings.
  • Strong organisational, communication and IT skills with experience of using e-portfolio or learning management systems.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire learners through a positive, inclusive and professional coaching style.
  • Commitment to safeguarding, equality and promoting wellbeing in all aspects of learning delivery.

Please note that the job role requires you to be mobile throughout an operational area. Therefore, the post holder will need to have a driving licence and access to a vehicle, or the ability to meet the mobility requirements of the role through other means.
