*** Full- Time Monday- Friday 8:30 A.M.- 4:30 P.M., Compensation Rate: $72,000-$76,000 Annually***

Summary/Primary Purpose: Serve as the EHS staff coach and develop, manage, implement and evaluate all aspects of the program’s early childhood education services, services for children with disabilities, school readiness and staff education requirements ensuring compliance with all related Federal Head Start Performance Standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of the program’s early childhood education services to ensure home visiting Parents As Teachers (PAT) curricula is implemented to fidelity and school readiness goals are met.
  • Serve as the Family Consultants’ expert coach utilizing Practice-Based Coaching to ensure effective curricula implementation, knowledge of the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework (ELOF), and progress towards School Readiness goals.
  • Complete regular home visit observations and coaching meetings to assess staff strengths and needs, create goals, document progress, and provide feedback.
  • Monitor, track and review completed Weekly Home Visit Plans and ChildPlus Desired Results Developmental Profile (DRDP) observations ensuring timely and thorough documentation.
  • Conduct quarterly Family Consultant planning meetings in concert with the Lead Family Consultant, using recent school readiness assessment data and parent survey results to develop age-appropriate socialization activities, snacks and meals.
  • Responsible for planning, developing, reporting, documenting and monitoring the programs approach to working with children with disabilities and their families in compliance with federal and state laws.
  • Oversee referrals to the Local Education Agency (LEA), Early Development Network (EDN), for children with suspected delays in concert with the parent(s) and Family Consultant and ensure a copy of the current Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) is in ChildPlus.
  • Consult and advise Family Consultants on appropriate home visit child development activities including modification for children with delays or disabilities.
  • Work collaboratively with the ERSEA & Compliance Coordinator to ensure at least 10% of enrollment is filled with children with disabilities.
  • Monitor, aggregate, and report school readiness assessment data on a monthly basis providing intervention and documentation when progress is not made.
  • Plan, develop, conduct, and monitor ongoing Family Consultant training and professional development as related to child education and parenting information.
  • Develop, update and revise content area policies and procedures in compliance with federal regulations and generate appropriate Child Plus reports to monitor and analyze content area.
  • Attend staff development and training opportunities in order to expand knowledge and skills.
  • Driving is an essential function of the position
  • All other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education with early education teaching experience is required. Disabilities coursework and/or training and experience working with children with disabilities is preferred.

  • Ability to be flexible and able to work on multiple projects or tasks simultaneously.
  • Administrative skills to include utilization of standard office equipment, Microsoft Office and Excel, data entry, attention to detail and filing.
  • Good communication skills both written and spoken and ability to maintain effective working relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential matters.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.

Other Qualifications: Must pass all applicable background checks. Must be able to pass medical examination and Tuberculosis test. Must possess a valid driver's license from the state in which you reside. Must be approved through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive either a Salvation Army or personal vehicle on Salvation Army business. Must successfully complete Safe from Harm training within 90 days of hire, as established by The Salvation Army.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Obtain certification in First Aid, CPR and CPI within 6 months of hire. Complete Parents As Teachers (PAT) within 3mo of hire and Practice-Based Coaching (PBC) and Together Learning & Collaborating (TLC) trainings within 6mo. of hire.
