Responsibilities
Child Care & Classroom Support
- Provide a safe, caring, and developmentally appropriate environment for children.
- Engage with children through play, learning activities, and daily routines.
- Support positive behavior using consistent, respectful guidance aligned with program philosophy.
- Help maintain a classroom that is organized, stimulating, and welcoming.
Curriculum & Learning
- Assist in planning and implementing weekly lesson plans with the Lead Teacher.
- Participate actively in classroom activities with enthusiasm and creativity.
- Observe children and contribute to understanding their developmental needs.
- Support individualized learning and respect each child’s uniqueness.
Teamwork & Communication
- Work collaboratively as part of a supportive classroom team.
- Build positive relationships with families and respond to their needs with care and professionalism.
- Attend staff meetings and trainings to support ongoing growth.
- Step into the Lead Teacher role when needed.
Program Support & Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate classroom records and documentation.
- Follow all agency policies, including safety, confidentiality, and child protection.
- Participate in center-wide responsibilities (e.g., bus monitoring, light housekeeping, assisting in other areas as needed).
- Continue professional development, including required training hours annually.
Qualifications
- Experience: At least 1 year working with young children.
- Certifications: Teacher Certification required
- Qualifications:
- CDA credential, early childhood coursework, or vocational training in early childhood education.
- Other Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Valid driver’s license
- Willingness to complete ongoing training (including 20 hours annually)
