Job Description

  • Position Early Childhood Teacher (for our Early Childhood Program)
  • Location: Dover, DE
  • Hours: Part-Time / Flexible Hours

THE POSITION:

  • Plan and execute individual and group activities to enhance children's cognitive, physical, social, and emotional growth.

  • Implement curriculum as designated by the Lead Teacher.

  • Ensure the safety of all children during activities and throughout the day.

  • Develop positive relationships with families and encourage their involvement in center activities.

  • Attend and actively participate in planning sessions, parent/team conferences, IFSP/IEP evaluations, staff meetings, and in-service trainings as required by the Administrator.

  • Maintain accurate and timely paperwork as per organizational policies.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the classroom and equipment according to established procedures.

  • Provide guidance and support to substitutes, volunteers, and students assigned to the classroom.

  • Incorporate the center's philosophy into daily activities and interactions with children and families.

  • Assist children with personal care needs such as diaper changes/toileting, dressing, and skin care.

  • Assist with meal preparation, serving, and cleanup as needed.

  • Maintain current pediatric CPR certification and respond effectively to emergency situations.

  • Adhere to all time and attendance standards set by the organization.

  • Adhere to all policies and procedures of Pediatric Health Choice.

  • Report directly to the Administrator.

  • Provide assistance to colleagues as requested and participate in special projects as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Early Childhood Teacher or Assistant Teacher Certificate from DEEDS Early Learning/DOE
  • twelve (12) months of experience working with preschool-aged children in a group setting
  • Basic First Aid Certification
  • Adult and Pediatric CPR Certification
  • Knowledge of Delaware’s Office of Child Care Licensing (OCCL) Regulations.
