  • Permanent Full & Part Time Positions available
  • $69,746-$79,718 per annum plus Superannuation
  • Must be flexible and able to work on a rotational roster between 6:15am and 6:45pm Monday to Friday.

We are currently looking for Early Childhood Educators at Sunningdale Avenue Children's Centre, Sunbury You will work in a collaborative team of Early Childhood professionals to support the growth and development of children in play based indoor/outdoor program. You will develop and implement innovative children's educational programs in collaboration with staff, families, and children. This will include planning, implementing, and evaluating programs for children and creating inclusive, secure, and interactive learning environments. Sound knowledge of current theory in practice, pedagogy and contemporary early years reforms will compliment Council’s Early Years team.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Undertake all responsibilities and activities associated with being a nominated supervisor/certified supervisor, to manage the service in accordance with the Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010, Education and Care Services National Regulations 2011.
  • Act in accordance with the authority delegated by Council in dealing with situations of an urgent nature requiring immediate action, ensuring compliance with the Act and the Regulations.
  • Develop in consultation with service staff, families and children, a program that brings together philosophies, children’s ideas, interests and uses intentional teaching to scaffold and extend children’s learning which encourages them to be active participants in their own learning.
  • Develop and display the educational program that is developmentally and culturally appropriate and is reflective of an ongoing cycle of planning, which involves observation gathering and interpretation of information to inform the preparation of environments and experiences to engage children in meaningful learning opportunities. Ensure the program demonstrates links between the various tools used to demonstrate children’s learning, including showing specific objectives for individual children.
  • Develop a professional collaborative relationship and inclusive partnership with early childhood colleagues to ensure opportunities for children’s learning and development is continued, encourages communication, promotes shared learning, and makes learning visible to children, educators, and their families.
  • Provide an environment that supports family-centred practice, encourages, and recognises individual family needs, relationships and cultural backgrounds and provides a welcoming atmosphere, including orientation for new families and children.

Qualifications

Required Certifications & Qualifications:

  • Diploma of Children’s Services/Certificate 3 in Children’s Services
  • Experience in Long Day Care Services
  • Sound knowledge of the Child Safe Standards and Reportable Conduct
  • Working with Children’s Check
  • Certificate for Provide First Aid in an education and care setting.
  • Anaphylaxis Management
  • Emergency Asthma Management
  • Updated CPR
  • Mandatory Reporting

  • Maintain an understanding of Early Childhood governance related policies and guidance including Early Childhood Australia’s Code of Ethics, United Nation Convention on the Rights of the Child.
