Job Description

Lewis-Palmer School District 38, located in Monument, CO, is looking for a part time Early Childhood Assistant for the 2026-2027 school year at Ray E. Kilmer Elementary School. The Early Childhood Assistant works directly with the preschool classroom teachers to care for and educate preschool age children through age-appropriate learning experiences. Preschool classrooms are inclusive environments that serve students with various developmental needs. A person in this position is responsible for all children in the classroom.

• Facilitates positive play and interactions by participating with children throughout the class period including centers, recess, and snack
• Assists in preparing lesson materials and classroom activities that foster exploration and independence by utilizing the approved curriculum
• Provides assistance to children who require differentiated learning experiences
• Assists students with self-help skills such as hand-washing, coats, toileting, diapering, and opening snacks
• Contributes actively to the goals and success of all teams and team members through collaboration, cooperation, and flexibility in team discussions, activities, and decision making

This is a part time position working Monday-Thursday, 8:30 - 1:15, on student contact days. The starting hourly wage for this position is $20.20 - $21.78 depending on previous experience. The start date for this position is as soon as possible.
