Early Childhood Assistant Director
Location: The Learning Experience – Andover, MA
Schedule: Full-Time
Pay: $50,000–$60,000 per year (based on experience and credentials)
Credential Required: Director I & Director II Certification

The Learning Experience – Andover is seeking a motivated and collaborative Early Childhood Assistant Director to join our leadership team. This role is ideal for an experienced early childhood professional who enjoys developing teachers, supporting families, and helping ensure every classroom provides an exceptional educational experience.
Working alongside the Center Director, you'll help oversee daily operations, maintain licensing excellence, coach teaching staff, and contribute to the continued growth and success of our school.
Leadership Responsibilities
Teacher Development
- Recruit, interview, and onboard new educators
- Observe classrooms regularly and provide coaching that promotes teacher growth and classroom excellence
- Support implementation of The Learning Experience's proprietary L.E.A.P. Curriculum
- Assist with staff scheduling while maintaining Massachusetts teacher-child ratios
- Mentor teachers through professional development, goal setting, and ongoing feedback
- Maintain personnel files and documentation in accordance with Massachusetts EEC regulations
Center Operations
- Support the daily operation of the center and serve as a leadership resource for staff and families
- Maintain compliance with all Massachusetts EEC licensing standards and company policies
- Assist with enrollment growth by conducting tours and building relationships with prospective families
- Help oversee classroom quality, health and safety standards, and center appearance
- Partner with the Center Director to create a positive, collaborative workplace culture
- Step into classrooms when needed to support teachers and maintain quality care
Qualifications
- Director I and Director II Certification required
- Minimum one year of leadership experience in a licensed childcare or preschool center required; two or more years preferred
- Previous teaching experience in infant, toddler, or preschool classrooms
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred
- Strong knowledge of Massachusetts EEC regulations and licensing requirements
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred
