Operationally, the ETC will take responsibility for (i) implementing all aspects of the Geospatial Aid Application (GSA) pilot and establishment of a functioning Land Parcel Identification System (LPIS) and Integrated Administration and Control System (IACS) in the country, while working in close coordination with the European Commission's Joint Research Centre (JRC); (ii) support the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture's (MEEA's) efforts to maintain and expand the State Agrarian Registry (SAR) to comply with European Union (EU) regulations to accelerate access to EU agricultural markets and eventually the EU; and (iii) maintain dialogue with the agencies in charge of the State Land Cadaster and the Registry of Rights regarding API-based data access to provide up-to-date monitoring information to the public and to the Bank teams working on agriculture, governance, and related sectors. The World Bank is a vital source of financial and technical assistance to developing countries around the world. Our vision is to create a world free of poverty on a livable planet.
We are not a bank in the common sense; we are made up of two unique development institutions owned by 189 member countries: the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) and the International Development Association (IDA).
Each institution plays a different but collaborative role in advancing the vision of inclusive and sustainable globalization. The IBRD aims to reduce poverty in middle-income and creditworthy poorer countries, while IDA focuses on the world's poorest countries.
Their work is complemented by that of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA) and the International Centre for the Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID).
