The Global Climate Department leads the World Bank Group's efforts to integrate climate and development objectives across operations, analytics, and partnerships. Through a portfolio of trust funds and facilities, The department supports countries to access climate finance, develop carbon markets, strengthen resilience, reduce emissions, and promote inclusive and sustainable development.
The Climate Trust Fund Communications Shared Services team sits within the Strategy, Learning & Operations team (KTCSL), and provides centralized communications support across a portfolio of 10 climate trust funds and facilities, including the Climate Support Facility (CSF), Partnership for Market Implementation (PMI), Scaling Climate Action by Lowering Emissions (SCALE), EnABLE Fund, Canada-World Bank climate funds, Forest Carbon Partnership Facility (FCPF), Bio-Carbon Fund Initiative for Sustainable Forest Landscapes (ISFL), Transformative Carbon Asset Facility (TCAF), and Carbon Initiative for Development (Ci-Dev).
KTCSL is seeking a highly motivated Extended Term Consultant (ETC) Strategic Communications Officer to play a key role in delivering the work program of the Shared Services model by providing communications leadership and advice, communications support, and project management for communication products across multiple trust funds. The position will serve as the primary communications focal point for selected programs while also supporting broader team priorities and strategic initiatives.
A central responsibility of the role will be leading the planning, coordination, and production of donor-facing and external communications products, including annual reports, results publications, newsletters, web content, and strategic communications materials. The position will also contribute to team coordination, communications planning, and quality assurance processes that support delivery across the broader trust fund portfolio.
The position will be based in Paris, France, and report to the Senior Communications Officer for Climate Trust Funds.
The Communications Officer will be responsible for managing communications workstreams across assigned trust funds and supporting the effective delivery of the Climate Communications Shared Services model.
