The New York County District Attorney’s Office (DANY) has an immediate opening for a e-Discovery Data Specialist within the IT Department. We are looking for a candidate with a solid grasp of the eDiscovery lifecycle and hands-on Nuix experience. This position is responsible for the technical processing, ingestion, and analysis of data. You will work closely with Senior Analysts to provide critical support to legal teams, ensuring project accuracy and efficiency in a fast-paced setting.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Manage the end-to-end ingestion and filtering of ESI within Nuix.
- Run culling and privilege searches to streamline data for legal review.
- Normalize metadata, handle de- duplication, and text extraction workflows.
- Generate load files and technical deliverables for downstream review platforms.
- Troubleshoot technical bottlenecks and processing errors.
- Ensure data integrity through consistent quality control protocols.
- Collaborate across departments to ensure timely project delivery.
- Support Senior Analysts in daily operations and staff training.
In addition to the Minimum Qualification Requirements, candidates must possess the following:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college; and
- Two (2) to three (3) years of experience in the legal field, preferably criminal justice related and/or with eDiscovery experience with a law firm or vendor.
Candidates with continuous experience in eDiscovery technology, specifically with Nuix, Relativity or Concordance will be credited with one (1) additional year of experience.
Preferred Requirements/Skills:
- Technology-related major preferred.
- Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office.
- Experience related to eDiscovery and other Litigation Support processes.
- Skilled in standard computer operating systems and software with strong ability to learn new software.
- Supporting document reviews and case work.
- Able to manage and resolve problems effectively, dealing confidently and concisely with internal stakeholders.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Organizational, time-management, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills are essential.
- Strong attention to detail, self-motivator, and able to manage multiple assignments.
- Ability to follow directions and apply proper policies, procedures, and guidelines.

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
