Job Description

Every day, we get opportunities to make a positive impact – on our colleagues, partners, customers and society. Together, we’re pioneering the solutions of the future and unlocking the full potential of precious resources. Trusted to act on initiative, we challenge conventional thinking to develop world-leading technologies that inspire progress in vital areas, including energy, food, water and shipping.

As we push forward, the innovative, open spirit that fuels our 140-year-old start-up culture and rapid growth also drives our personal growth. So, as we shape a more resourceful, less wasteful world, we build our careers too.

About the job

The E-Commerce Manager will play a key role in shaping and scaling Alfa Laval North America's B2B e-commerce strategy. This is an opportunity to influence how we engage customers and channel partners digitally, accelerate adoption of our e-commerce capabilities, and turn digital commerce into an increasingly effective commercial channel across Food & Pharma, Energy, Ocean, and Service.

You will help define what great B2B e-commerce looks like for Alfa Laval in North America. Working across commercial teams, digital marketing, global stakeholders, and business leaders, you will translate customer and business needs into a clear strategic roadmap and lead its activation.

In the near term, you will help accelerate adoption of Alfa Laval's evolving e-commerce environment and create an effective experience for customers, channel partners, and internal users. Longer term, you will identify opportunities to scale the channel, improve the customer journey, generate demand, increase digital engagement, and create measurable commercial impact.

This opportunity is well suited for someone who enjoys building, influencing, and creating structure, rather than simply operating within an established playbook. You will have the opportunity to bring your expertise, challenge how we work today, and help shape where we go next.

This is a hybrid role based in Richmond, VA.

As a part of the team, you will:

  • Shape and activate the North American B2B e-commerce strategy and roadmap, aligning priorities with regional, divisional, and global objectives.
  • Drive customer and channel-partner adoption, identifying opportunities to increase activation, engagement, digital sales, and acquisition.
  • Own the evolution and optimization of the e-commerce experience, using customer insights, business needs, and performance data to prioritize improvements.
  • Turn data into action by defining meaningful KPIs, evaluating performance, identifying opportunities, and communicating recommendations to business stakeholders.
  • Partner across Sales, Digital Marketing, global teams, and other functions, building alignment and leading strategic initiatives through influence.
  • Develop targeted demand-generation and customer-journey initiatives that connect digital engagement with measurable commercial outcomes.
  • Support customer, partner, and internal enablement as Alfa Laval evolves its e-commerce capabilities and ways of working.
  • Manage budgets and evaluate the business impact and return of e-commerce initiatives.

At Alfa Laval, we pride ourselves on creating an inclusive and dynamic workplace that values diverse perspectives and experiences. While we typically welcome applicants from all locations, currently, we are prioritizing candidates who reside in the US or have an established presence in the area. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

What you know:

You have a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Project Management or related field and,

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in e-commerce, digital commerce, digital product, or related commercial roles, with meaningful experience in a B2B environment.
  • Demonstrated experience developing or influencing an e-commerce strategy, roadmap, or significant digital commerce initiative.
  • Experience driving customer acquisition, adoption, engagement, digital sales, or demand generation with measurable outcomes.
  • Strong commercial and analytical acumen, with the ability to translate customer insights and performance data into clear business recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional and senior stakeholders without direct authority in a matrixed organization.
  • Working knowledge of e-commerce platforms and the broader digital commerce ecosystem, such as CMS, CRM, customer portals, analytics, or related technologies.
  • Experience working with distributors, channel partners, industrial B2B organizations, or global teams is an advantage but not required.
  • Less than 10% travel
