Job Description
We are looking for a talented Dyno Operator to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Engine Rebuild Center in Accra, Ghana.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways
- Ensure rebuilt engines are tested and prioritized efficiently by reviewing daily test schedules and job cards, helping maintain production flow and delivery commitments.
- Safeguard testing accuracy by conducting thorough pre-test inspections and verifying the calibration status of all test cell instrumentation and data acquisition systems.
- Promote a safe and compliant working environment by performing engine safety checks, confirming PPE requirements, and ensuring all isolation points are in a safe condition before testing begins.
- Set up engines correctly for testing by mounting, aligning, and securing units according to standard operating procedures and manufacturer specifications.
- Deliver reliable quality outcomes by operating the Taylor Engine Test Cell and conducting load, performance, and break-in tests in line with approved dyno quality processes and OEM requirements.
- Identify and resolve potential engine performance issues by monitoring real-time test data, diagnosing abnormalities, and applying mechanical and electrical troubleshooting expertise.
- Maintain high-quality standards by accurately documenting Dyno Test Reports, validating results against acceptance criteria, and escalating non-conforming units for corrective action.
- Support operational excellence by performing preventive maintenance checks, maintaining calibration compliance, and ensuring the test cell remains audit-ready and fully functional.
- Drive continuous improvement by collaborating with quality, maintenance, and production teams, providing feedback on recurring issues, and ensuring clear communication during shift handovers and re-test activities.
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Develop strong expertise in operating the Taylor Engine Test Cell, ensuring accurate testing, reliable performance analysis, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Apply manufacturing knowledge effectively by implementing process, equipment, and system improvements that enhance efficiency, productivity, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain a strong focus on controls safety by identifying and managing electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic hazards, while consistently following safe work practices and procedures.
- Build advanced skills in electrical troubleshooting and factory automation, ability to diagnose and resolve control system issues, support automation projects, and improve manufacturing processes through technology-driven solutions.
Education/ Experience
- High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
- Significant work experience and in-depth knowledge obtained through specialized training and relevant experience.
- This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
