About the Role
We’re looking for a Business Analyst to bridge the gap between business and technical teams in support of our Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) Sales platform, helping improve its performance, adoption, and business value. In this role, you’ll lead discovery conversations with Sales leadership, Revenue Operations, and other stakeholders to uncover business needs, clarify requests, and translate those needs into clear requirements and testable acceptance criteria. You’ll also translate technical feedback into straightforward, business-friendly language to help stakeholders make informed decisions. Experience with D365 or a comparable CRM platform is preferred, but strong business analysis skills, curiosity, and confident stakeholder communication are what matter most. This is not a development or configuration role, and deep technical expertise is not required.
Essential Responsibilities
Discovery and Requirements
- Lead discovery conversations and workshops with Sales leadership, Revenue Operations, and other business stakeholders, using open-ended, probing questions to uncover the underlying business need behind each request.
- Clarify and document critical business requirements, including requests that are vague, incomplete, or conflicting, and help stakeholders align on priorities and trade-offs.
- Map current- and future-state sales lifecycle processes, including lead-to-opportunity, opportunity-to-close, account/contact management, pipeline management, forecasting, and reporting, and perform fit/gap analysis against D365 Sales capabilities.
- Develop clear, testable acceptance criteria for each requirement and confirm that delivered functionality meets them.
Business and Technology Collaboration
- Serve as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, including developers, Enterprise Applications, QA, and release managers.
- Translate business needs into clear user stories, functional requirements, process flows, and backlog items that technical teams can act on.
- Communicate technical feedback, including constraints, options, effort, and trade-offs, to business stakeholders in clear, non-technical language to support informed decision-making.
- Contribute to sprint planning and backlog refinement led by the Product Owner, and support solution demos and release readiness.
Implementation and Quality Assurance
- Support D365 Sales implementations and enhancements throughout the project lifecycle, including design reviews, configuration validation, user acceptance testing, go-live readiness, and post-go-live stabilization.
- Coordinate user acceptance testing by developing test scenarios from acceptance criteria, supporting business testers, and partnering with QA to triage and validate defects.
- Document requirements, process decisions, configurations, and release impacts to support internal knowledge sharing and ongoing system support.
CRM Adoption and Continuous Improvement
- Develop a working knowledge of D365 Sales functionality and guide stakeholders on existing platform capabilities versus enhancements that may be required.
- Identify CRM data quality issues, including duplicates, validation gaps, and master data opportunities, and partner with stakeholders to improve data quality and governance.
- Deliver demos, training sessions, quick-reference guides, and change communications to support user adoption.
- Monitor system usage, adoption trends, and user feedback, and recommend enhancements that improve efficiency, reporting accuracy, and sales productivity.
Requirements
Qualifications
- 5+ years of business analysis experience supporting enterprise software or CRM implementations and enhancements, including leading requirements gathering with business stakeholders.
- Proven discovery skills, including the ability to lead stakeholder conversations, ask open-ended and probing questions, and uncover underlying business needs when requests are vague or incomplete.
- Demonstrated ability to bridge business and technical teams by translating business needs into actionable technical requirements and communicating technical feedback to business audiences in language they understand.
- Hands-on experience translating business requirements into clear, actionable acceptance criteria, with the ability to provide specific examples from previous projects or implementations.
- Strong stakeholder communication skills, with confidence leading discovery conversations, navigating ambiguity, and adapting communication styles to audiences ranging from executives to developers.
- Experience working with a CRM platform and associated sales processes, including leads, opportunities, accounts/contacts, pipeline management, and forecasting. Microsoft Dynamics 365 is preferred; experience with a comparable CRM platform, such as Salesforce, is also welcome.
- Experience supporting software implementations or enhancements, including requirements gathering, user acceptance testing, and go-live activities.
Bonus Points For
- Direct experience or exposure to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales / Customer Engagement.
- Familiarity with the Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Dataverse) and Power BI at a conceptual level. Deep technical or configuration skills are not required.
- Experience with CRM data quality, data migration, security roles, and data governance concepts.
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, demos, and release readiness.
- Experience with process mapping and diagramming tools such as Lucidchart, Miro, or Visio.
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales Functional Consultant or related Power Platform certification.
- Experience supporting change management initiatives or user adoption.
