
[What the role is]
The Waste Infrastructure and Engineering Division (WIED) oversees the planning, engineering design and development of all NEA waste management infrastructure.
[What you will be working on]
The officer will play an active role in the planning, development and management of future solid waste management infrastructure projects including the potential pilot carbon capture facilities that will contribute towards the targets set forth under the SG Green Plan 2030. The work scope and responsibilities include the following:
Conduct engineering feasibility studies, planning, design / financial review and formulate programme/action plans in infrastructure projects
Obtain planning approval and funding support
Plan and implement project schedules to ensure timely project execution
Administer the procurement process to select and appoint project consultants and contractors, including preparation of tender documents
Supervise consultants/contractors and carry out site inspections to ensure that the infrastructure projects are developed in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner, in compliance with the tender requirements
Manage funding and budget planning cycles for projects
Work and liaise with various internal and external stakeholders of projects
[What we are looking for]
Degree in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical or Environmental Engineering is preferred. Applicants with degree in other engineering fields with work experience in a related field may also be considered.
At least 2-3 years of relevant working experience in engineering will be highly preferred.
Knowledge in solid waste management systems, project management and review of building plans and engineering drawings would be advantageous

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
